Michael DURISIN, pastor of St Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Donora, for over 20 years, died yesterday in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, after an extended illness. He was 57. Msgr. DURISIN was vicar forane of the Mon Valley Byzantine Catholic Deanery and had served as director of the annual Labor Day weekend pilgrimage to Mount St Marcrina, Uniontown, for a number of years. He was born in Trebisov, Czechoslovakia on Feb 5, 1921, a son of the late George and Mary SENCSAK DURISIN. He came to the United States on July 5, 1922 and attended St Mary’s Parochial School, Trenton, NJ, graduating from Trenton Central High School in 1938. He received a bachelor of arts degree from St Procopius College and entered St Procopius Seminary, Lisle, Ill. He was ordained by the late Bishop Basil TAKACH on Sept 21, 1945 in his parish church, St Mary of the Assumption, Trenton, NJ. He had administered parishes in Braddock, Allentown and Palmerton, Pa, before being assigned to Holy Spirit Church, Binghamton, NY. His next assignment was in Windber and from there came to Donora on Sept 1, 1956. He was appointed vicar forane on Dec 5, 1959. He was raised to the elevation of monsignor on Feb 25, 1965. Msgr DURISIN marked his 30th year as a priest in September, 1975. He died yesterday at 12 40pm. His father, George DURISIN, preceded him in death on May 1, 1977. Surviving are one sister, Mrs Mary HALRACK, wife of Dr Nicholas E HALRACK, DDS of Trenton, NJ, and two nieces Anne Marie and Marie Virginia. The body will lie in state at St Michael’s Church, Murray Ave, Donora, beginning at 3 pm Sunday, until the hour of services at 11 am Tuesday. Priestly Services will be conducted by the clergy on Sunday and Monday evenings at 7 oclock at the church. Celebrant at the Pontifical Requiem Devine Liturgy will be the Most Rev Stephen J KOCISKO, archbishop of Pittsburgh. Interment will be in St Mary’s Cemetery, Trenton, NJ, where his parents are buried. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Byzantine Catholic Seminary, Pittsburgh, are requested. GREENWOOD Branton Louis GREENWOOD, 25, of 215 Tenth St, McKeesport, formerly of West Newton, died Wednesday in McKeesport Hospital from injuries sustained in an accident Tuesday. Dravosburg police said a car operated by GREENWOOD collided head-on with another vehicle, driven by Zivko BOTINE of West Mifflin, on the Mansfield Bridge, Greenwood was treated for head, chest and abdominal injuries and admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital. He was born in Mt Pleasant on May 19, 1952 and had moved to McKeesport from West Newton two years ago. He was employed at the Irvin Works of United States Steel. Mr GREENWOOD was a member of St Paul AME Church, West Newton. He was a veteran of service in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his parents George and Mary Louise COFIELD GREENWOOD of West Newton; three brothers, Julius GREENWOOD of Blythedale, Lester GREENWOOD of Pittsburgh and his twin, Stanton GREENWOOD of McKeesport; three sisters, Rose FIELDS of Harrisburg, Gwendy HOWARD of Blythedale and Georgette SNOWDEN of Pittsburgh, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs Augusta COFIELD of Blythedale. The body will be in state at St Paul AME Church, West Newton, from 1 to 10 pm today and until 2 pm, the hour of service tomorrow. Interment will be in West Newton Cemetery. MOORE Frank C MOORE, of Monongahela, died yesterday at 6 10 pm in Monongahela Division of Mon Valley Hospital following an extended illness during which time he was in Crest Haven Nursing Home for 18 months. He was 85. Mr MOORE was born Sept 12, 1891 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Michael and Ann MOORE. He spent most of his life at 512 W Main St, Monongahela, but for the past two years resided with his son, Jerome MOORE of Marianna. Mr MOORE was retired from the coal mines where he worked for 55 years as a mechanic and electrician. He was a member of the United Mineworkers of America and the First Presbyterian Church of Monongahela. His wife, Martha GREER MOORE, preceded him in death in 1973. To his first wife, Agnes NEWARK MOORE, he had one son and three daughters, six grandchildren and four great-granddaughters. Friends will be received in the LM Frye Funeral Home, 427 W Main St, Monongahela, after 7 pm tomorrow. Interment will be in Monongahela Cemetery. CROUSHORE Gordon T CROUSHORE, of Adah, Pa, died Wednesday, Feb 22 at noon at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 49. Mr CROUSHORE was born July 14, 1928 in Fayette City, a son of the late Edward and Martha COLDREN CROUSHORE. He was a member of Hopewell United Presbyterian Church where he served as trustee, and was also a member of the Hopewell Grange 1114. Survivors included his widow, Lois Ann PORTER CROUSHORE; four children, Robert, Cindy, Amy and Edward, all at home and one brother, Jasper CROUSHORE of Perryopolis RD. CHERRY B Temen CHERRY, 84, of Riverhill, Monongahela RD 1, died yesterday at 8 pm in Brownsville General Hospital following an illness of 10 days. Mr CHERRY was born Aug 19, 1893 in Roscoe, a son of the late Alexander and Amy WESTCOAT CHERRY, and had resided in Monongahela most of his life. He was a retired employee of the Liggett Spring & Axle Company of East Monongahela and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Monongahela. Mr Cherry was preceded in death by his wife, Mary TUCKER CHERRY, in May of 1977. Survivors include two daughters, Anna CHERRY ELMS of McKeesport and Mrs Clarence (Irene Ann) CLINE of Monongahela, three sons, William T CHERRY of Anaheim, Calif, Harry A CHERRY of Riverhill, Monongahela RD 1 and Alexander CHERRY at home; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. HESS John T HESS of 317 First Ave, Lynnwood, died this morning in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. BUTTERMORE Mrs Loraine GAREE BUTTERMORE of Perryopolis died yesterday at 7 pm in Brownsville General Hospital. She was 71. Mrs BUTTERMORE was born Dec 2, 1906 in Perryopolis, a daughter of the late Charles D and Eva HARPER BUTTERMORE. She operated Loraine’s Beauty Shop in Perryopolis and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Perryopolis where for many years she taught the Dorcas Bible Class. A graduate of California State College, Mrs BUTTERMORE was a former teacher in the Perry Twp School District. Surviving are her widower, Kermit BUTTERMORE; one son, Garee K BUTTERMORE of Gales Ferry, Conn and two grandchildren, Steven and Sally. BECK John BECK, 62 of 1209 McMahon Ave, Monessen, died unexpectedly yesterday at 1 30 pm in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. Mr BECK a life-long resident of Monessen, was born in Monessen Nov 4, 1915. He was a disability retiree from the Pipe Shop at the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a member of the Croatian Club, Eagles Aerie 2399 and the Croatian Fraternal Union 194, all of Monessen. He was preceded in death by his father, Andy BECK, in 1934. Survivors include his mother, Mrs Katherine BECK, with whom he made his home in Monessen; one sister, Mrs Albert (Vilma) MACURA of West Mifflin and one nephew, Kenneth MACURA of Swissvale. Mrs BOWERS was born March 24, 1896, in Plum Run, W Va, a daughter of the late Dempsey D and Similda HEADLEY HAINES. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Charleroi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd BOWERS, on Jan 7, 1975. Survivors include one brother, Clyde D HAINES of Florence, Pa, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs VOLLMER was born July 1, 1910 in Follansbee, W Va, the daughter of the late Clyde and Martha PRIEST SHELTON. She was a member of the Episcopal Church, Steubenville, Ohio and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs VOLLMER is survived by her husband, Edward A VOLLMER. KARLOSKY Alberta C KARLOSKY, 74, of 37 Aliquippa Ave, Monessen, died yesterday at 5 57 pm in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs KARLOSKY was born in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Albert and Catherine GETTLER LHOTA, and had resided in Monessen most of her life. She was a member of St Leonard Catholic Church of Monessen, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Ladies Guild of the church, as well as the Monessen Women’s Club. Survivors include her husband, William A KARLOSKY Sr; one daughter, Mrs Jack (Mercedes) WEBER of Newport News, Va; one son, William A KARLOSKY Jr of Morrisville, Pa; four grandchildren, and one brother, Clarence LHOTA of Monessen. INJURIES FATAL TO PERRYOPOLIS MAN Services will be held tomorrow in Donora for a 45-year-old Perryopolis man who died following a head-on accident near Large in Jefferson Borough late last night. Allen D BUDDEMEYER, 45, Perryopolis, died following the head-on collision with another vehicle on Route 51 near Colonial Drive-In Theater in Jefferson Borough. Jefferson Borough police, who investigated the 10 58 pm accident, said Mr BUDDEMEYER was moving south on Route 51 when his auto went out of control and crossed the center of Route 51 and crashed into another vehicle operated Robert CONWAY, 41, of Pittsburgh. Jefferson police said they are not sure what caused the BUDDEMEYER auto to go out of control. “There is a possibility he may have suffered a heart attack,” one officer said. CONWAY and a passenger in his car, Henry SOLOARD, also of Pittsburgh, were both admitted to Jefferson Center Hospital in South Hills and both were reported to be in fair condition. Mr BUDDEMEYER was born Aug 14, 1932 in Pittsburgh, a son of Albert and the late Margaret BRUNGESS BUDDEMEYER. He was a supervisor at the Continental Can Co plant in West Mifflin. He was a member of the F&AM Lodge 808, Scottish Rite and Shriners, all of Pittsburgh, and St John Episcopal Church of Donora. In addition to his father, he is survived by his widow, Caroline (Sue) DOROW BUDDEMEYER; three daughters, Mrs James (Debra) MITCHELL of Pittsburgh, Mrs James (Kimberly) HATALOWICH of Perryopolis and Tami at home; two sons, Allen and Derek BUDDEMEYER, both at home; four brothers, Donald BUDDEMEYER of Grindstone, Paul BUDDEMEYER of Portsmouth, RI, Dale BUDDEMEYER of Berwick, Pa and Lee BUDDEMEYER of Pittsburgh; and three sisters, Mrs Robert (Delores) NUTSCHLER of Pittsburgh, Mrs Stanford (Florence) BROOKS of Phoenix, Ariz and Mrs Lance (Donna) TWO-GUNS of Buffalo, NY. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1 pm in St John’s Episcopal Church in Donora with the Rev George STORY officiating. There will no visitation and the funeral services are being handled by Blair-Lowther Funeral Home in Perryopolis. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh.
