The Valley Independent August 1966 ACKARD Gerald Roy Ackard, 82, of 520 Washington Ave, Charleroi, died yesterday, at 11:30 am in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mr Ackard retired from the Monessen Plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co in 1952. He was a member of Modern Woodman of America Lodge, Charleroi and a member of the Spiritualist Church, Charleroi. Surviving are his widow, Sara Harger Ackard; a daughter, Mrs Lee (Dorothy) Davis of Newport Richey, Fla; a son, David C Ackard, Monessen. BERES Michael Beres, 42, of 13301 Harold Ave, Cleveland, Ohio, died yesterday at 4:30 am, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Cleveland. He is survived by his widow, Marianne Bolek Beres; two daughters, Sister Anne Michele (Michele) of Cleveland, and Kathleen, also of Cleveland; one son, Michael G Beres of Cleveland; his parents, Mr and Mrs George Beres on Monessen; one brother, George Beres of Parma, Ohio; and a sister, Mrs Madalyn Billy of Monessen. Friends will be received at the Busch Funeral Home, 4334 Pearl Rd, Cleveland, today and tomorrow during hours of 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 pm. DUVALL Cassius Duvall of 587 Johnson Road, Chillicothe, Ohio, died yesterday at his home. Mr Duvall lived at 427 Knox Ave, Monessen, until the death of his wife, Mrs Elizabeth Duvall on March 1, 1964. He then moved to Chillicothe to live with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs Walter (Lillian) Smith. He retied in 1959 from the boiler room of the Page plant of the American Chain and Cable Co. He was a former member of the First Christian Church of Monessen at the time of his death was a member of the First Christian Church of Chillicothe. He was also a member of the F and AM Lodge 461 of California, Pa. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs Rosemary Dorich, Monessen, Mrs Charles (Eleanor) Lynn of Greenock, and Mrs. Smith of Chillicothe; two sons, James W of Johnson City, NY, and Clarence A of Coshocton; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; two sister, Mrs Charles (Jesse) Pollock and Mrs Anna Williams of California, Pa. BUGELLI Mrs Augusta Bugelli, 79, of 226 South Mountian Ave, Monrovia, Calif, formerly of Belle Vernon, died yesterday at 9 am. Preceded in death by her husband, Louis Bugelli in January 1943, she is survived by two daughters, Amalia Bugelli and Mrs Dean (Delma) Clutts of Monrovia, one son, Dr Delmas Bugelli, also of Monrovia; two grandchildren, David and Nadia; three sisters, Mrs Tina Tonarelli of Belle Vernon, Mrs Elvira Bartolonei and Mrs Natalina Lensini of Italy; and one brother, Joseph Petrucci of Detroit, Mich. FLOWER Mrs Anna Bartus Flower of 22512 Raymond Court, St Clair Shores, Mich, died Thursday at 10 pm in the Alexander Blain Hospital, Detroit, Mich after a brief illness following an operation. Mrs Flower was a former Monessen resident until the early 1930s. She is survived by her husband, William Flower; one son, William Flower, III of Erie; two sisters, Mrs Mary Altamare and Mrs John (Elizabeth) Hricko, Monessen; one brother, Joseph Bartus of Charleroi RD 2, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr and Mrs Michael Bartus. Friends will be received at H Denver Rhome Funeral Home, Monessen, at 7 o’clock tonight. Services will be held there on Monday. WALTERS Earl Lee Walters, 61, of Pricedale, died yesterday at 1:50 pm in the Golden Age Nursing Home, Brownsville, after a brief illness. Mr Walters was employed as an assemblyman at Liggett Spring and Axle, Monongahela. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs Joseph (Charlotte) Guth, Pricedale; Mrs Ronald (Kay) Pugh and Doreen Walters, Chicago, Ill; four sons, Earl, Cleveland, Ohio; Glenn, West Brownsville; Ronald at home, and Raymond, Chicago; a sister, Mrs Harry (Pearl) Gilmore, Belle Vernon; four brothers, Noah and Clarence of Brownsville and Roy and Vernon of Pricedale.
