Clopp, a prominent resident of near Ligonier, died suddenly Tuesday morning, May 5, 1925. He had been in his usual health the previous evening, and had retired about nine o'clock. The next morning when they went to call him to breakfast he was found to have fallen into his last sleep. His sudden passing away was a great shock to the entire community as he was a man who was well and favorably known and he will be sadly missed by his friends and neighbors. Mr. Clopp was born January 16, 1851 in Ligonier township and there he lived his entire life. When twenty five years of age he purchased the farm south of town which has ever since been his home. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Ligonier, being an elder in the church and always active in church work. He was a member of Ligonier Lodge No. 964, I.O.O.F., Ligonier Encampment No. 314 and Lady St. Clair Rebekah Lodge, and he was always interested in lodge activities. He was also an active Republican and had at different times held office in the township. He is survived by three sons, Harry M., who lives on the home farm; John Wilbert, of Ligonier, and Roy F., of Charleston, W. Va. Also by a brother David Clopp, of Latrobe, and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Beard and Mrs. Mary Binkey of Hollis, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday afternoon at 1:30 in charge of his pastor, Rev. W.F. Fleming. Interment in Valley cemetery. The local I.O.O.F.
