She was the daughter of Robert McCurdy, a soldier in the War of 1812, and he fought in the battle of Lundy's Lane under command of General Winfield Scott. Her grandfather was Samuel Finley, a soldier of the Revolutionary War from 1779 to 1780, a lieutenant in Continental troop Maryland of Rowley regiment. She was married to Alexander Blair in 1850. She was the mother of seven children -- Isabella and Genevera, deceased, Mrs. Sara Zimmerman, of Monongahela, Mrs. Mary Ellen Henderson, of Fairfield Township; Winfield Blair, of Loveland, Colo., Robert & Margaret, at home. She had 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. 5 preceded her to the spirit world. The funeral service was held at her late home conducted by Rev. C.E. Ludwig, of Ligonier, and Rev. Bowden, of Conemaugh, her grandson. Her pallbearers were her grandsons, Winfield Henderson, Rev. Bowden, Alex & Edward ! Blair, Edward and Frank Gibson, of Latrobe.
