Last Will & Testament: In the Name of God Amen. I Robert Hamilton [of] North huntinton [sic] township County of Westmoreland and State of Pennsylvania being weak of body but of sound mind and memory blessed be God for the same. Do make and publish this as my last Will and Testament in manner and form following principally and first of all I commend my Soul to God who gave it me and my Body to the earth to be buried in a decent and christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors herein after named and as to such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with I allow first of all my just and lawful debts to be first of all payed. Next I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret the use of the house and furniture while she lives with the income of the farm what is needful for her and the family she may have c [with] the remainder to be Samuels for the working of the farm for her. Likewise the horses, cows, sheep and hogs at her disposal only what shall be after mentioned to Agnes. Next I give and bequeath to Elizabeth married Allen Dunn fifty dollars in three years after my wife's death, provided in she should live longer than myself and in three years after my death if I should live the last. Next I give and bequeath to my Son John fifty dollars in three years after Elizabeth is payed. Next I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary one hundred dollars in six years after Johns. Next I give and bequeath to my Son William ten dollars. Next I give and bequeath to my Son Robert fifty dollars. Next I give and bequeath to my Daughter Margaret one hundred dollars & fifty in four years after Mary is payed. Next I give and bequeath to my Daughter Agnes two hundred dollars in four years after Margrats[sic] is payed, and likewise one horse and sadal and bridel, two cows, six sheep, feather bed and bedding of clothes with household & dresser furniture with the loom and tacklings and the liberty of this shop when she wants it[;] the above articles to be payed her at her marriage or when she sees fit to call for them. Likewise I give and bequeath to my son James one hundred acres of the lower ends of the farm extending from Esq. Milligans line to Jacob Painter Esq. including the ?all field next to Sholls [Scholls?] but not have any more of the clear lands in his possession until his Mothers death. Next I give and bequeath to my Son Samuel the remainder of the farm being seposed [sic] one hundred & fifty acres with the house, barn, orchards, still house and stills and the farming utensils totily to himself with the wagons. The for mentioned sums viz. Elizabeths, Johns, Roberts and Williams, Mary McClorg [McClurg?], Peggy, and Agnes shares to be payed equally by James and Samuel out of their shares. And likewise I allow my Sons James and ____ to pay to the trustees of the Associate Reformed Church or to any persons appointed to repair said Church at Sewickley for a pulpit or other necessaries twenty dollars and likewise to the Reverend Mr. Dick twenty-five dollars at one year after the heirs is all payed and lastly I nominate and appoint my said wife Margaret, Son Samuel & James McClorg [McClurg?] to be the executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills legacies and bequests by me heretofore made and declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament. Signed sealed and declared to be his last will and testament in presence of us {NB before signing: the above sums to be in trade on the farm at market price John Milligan} Robert x [his mark] Hamilton Seal Page 285 Westmoreland County SS Before me Robert Dickey Register for the probate of wills ?? in and for said County personally comes John Milligan Esq. the subscribing witness to the within will (and writer of the same) who being sworn doth depose and say that he saw Robert Hamilton the within Testator who is now deceased sign the same by making his mark and deliver it as his last will and testament and at the time of his so doing he was he believes of sound and disposing mind and memory and that he signed the same as witness in the presence of the testator at his request and that this John Milligan thereto subscribed is the proper handwriting of this deponent respectively. Sworn & subscribed before me this twenty-ninth day of May 1812. John Milligan Before me Robert Dickey Reg. Be it remembered that on the 29th day of May 1812 the foregoing will and testament was proved before me Robert Dickey Register and by me approved of and letters testamentary granted therein with a copy of the same in and to the Executors therein named they having been first duly sworn well and truly to administer the same and to file a true Inventory in thirty days.
