The Daily Courier Monday, August 2, 1926 BOWEN R CROW, 86, DROWNED IN JACKSON POOL FORMER POINT MARION MAN HAD MADE HOME WITH SON-IN-LAW AT FLATWOODS FUNERAL WILL BE TUESDAY Missing all day Saturday Bowen R CROW, 86 years old, who made his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs GM GRIFFIN between Flatwoods and Perryopolis, was found drowned late in the evening in the swimming pool of the Jackson Country Club, not far from his home. It was believed he had fallen into the water. He was fully clothed. Mr CROW disappeared from the GRIFFIN home early in the morning. When he failed to return a search was started. Late in the afternoon someone reported having seen him go in the direction of the country club pool. After it had been dragged a short time the body was pulled to shore. It was removed to the funeral parlors of Ira BLAIR of Perryopolis. Mr CROW, known generally in the community as Grandfather CROW, had made his home among his children and had been staying with the GRIFFINS for several years. He formerly lived near Point Marion where he was engaged in market gardening. Mr CROW is survived by four sons and three daughters, Jesse J CROW of California, Ben K CROW and Ira K CROW of Point Marion, Charles S CROW of New Brunswick, NJ, Mrs Carrie ROBINSON of Smithfield, Mrs Lucy Griffin of near Flatwoods and Mrs Lillian C WAYT of Barnesville, Ohio. The funeral service will be held tomorrow afternoon. There will be a brief service at 12 30 oclock at the GRIFFIN home and additional service at 2 30 oclock at Mount Moriah Presbyterian Church in Springhill township, with Rev E J KNEPSHIELD of the Redstone Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
