She was born Dec 29. 1910, in St Louis, a daughter of the late Jose and Maria CAMPA. She was a member of the Spanish Club Auxiliary, Spanish Club Benefit Club and AARP, all of Donora. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jose ALVEREZ Sr, one son, Chief Jose (Popeye) ALVEREZ Jr, and four brothers, Manuel, Joe, Frank and Elmer CAMPA. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs Joseph (Julie) MUNIZ of Las Vegas, Nev, Mrs Virginia ALAKAMOVICH of Mather, two brothers, Louis CAMPA of Las Vegas and Fred CAMPA of McKeesport, two grandchildren, Mrs JR (Twila Marie) RANK of Tomball, Texas, and Jose ALVEREZ III of Donora; and two great-grandchildren, Jimmy Joe and Hallie RANK. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the James A Rabe Funeral Home, 701 Thompson Ave, Donora. Burial will be in Monongahela Cemetery. BERENICE COWEN Berenice LINDLEY COWEN, 98, of California, died Monday, Dec 11, 1989, at Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Dec 27, 1890, in West Bethlehem Township, a daughter of the late Isaac and Mary Ellen SHAPE GAYMAN. Mrs COWEN was a member of the Christian Church in Marianna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel C COWEN, who died April 12, 1952; two brothers, John GAYMAN and Louis GAYMAN, and four sisters, Amanda BARR, Olive BARR, Jessica COX and Iris LINN. She is survived by three sons, Laird Thomas COWEN of Charleroi RD 1, John Herschel COWEN of Sewickley and Gerald D COWEN of California; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at John E Greenlief Funeral Home, Fourth and Wood Streets, California, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Interment will be in North Ten Mile Cemetery. EVELYN LAZZARI Evelyn LAZZARI, 73, of Hudson Ave, Monongahela, died Monday, Dec 11, 1989, in her home. She was born Oct 17, 1916, in Monongahela, a daughter of the late Angelo and Catherine ZANARDELLI LAZZARI. She was a retired manager of the ZELINSKY Bridal Shop, where she worked for 50 years. She was a member of Charleroi Chamber of Commerce and the Charleroi Area Business and Professional Organization Recently, she was active in the Monongahela AARP Chapter. Survivors include one nephew, John Joseph ZANARDELLI of Bethel Park; one niece Suzanne ZANARDELLI; two great-nephews, Brandon and Stephen ZANARDELLI of Bethel Park; one great-niece, Robin ZANARDELLI of Bethel Park; one brother-in-law, John ZANARDELLI of Monongahela; and one sister, Mrs Linda ZANARDELLI of Monongahela. She was born May 7, 1895, in Austria-Hungary, a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Mike SALKO. She was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, Lynnwood, Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John GEORGE, on Sept 10, 1970.
