DENNY, CRISS, CLOUTS, ZIRWAS, BRIDGEMAN, RAY, AHLHORN An infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Denny of Hickory died Saturday afternoon, June 20, 1936, in the Canonsburg hospital. Besides the parents, two sisters, Elyn and Gladys, survive. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. C. F. THOMAS of Hickory. Burial was in the Oak Spring cemetery, Canonsburg. Dorothy Caroline CRISS, aged six weeks, daughter of Therma and Caroline CUMMINS CRISS, Berlin Center, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 16, 1936. Besides the parents, the following brothers and sisters survive: Charles, Arthur, Anna, William, Catherine Virginia, Carl, David, Theodore, and James. Burial was last Friday in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Hickory. The CRISS family formerly lived in Hickory. John W. CLOUTS, a former employee of the Pennsylvania railroad, Pittsburgh division, died Wednesday, June 17, 1936, in the Washington hospital from injuries received June 7 in an auto accident. He was born April 27, 18** (date looks like 1859 9r 1869). Mr. CLOUTS was a former resident of Midway. He is survived by one brother, Thomas CLOUTS of Washington. F. W. CUNNINGHAM of Laurel hill is a nephew. Funeral services were held Saturday in Wareham's Funeral Home, Wilkinsburg, in charge of the Rev. N. T. RICHARDS, pastor of the McMaster's M. E. church in Turtle Creek. Burial was in the Church Hill cemetery. Those from McDonald who attended the funeral of John CLOUTS were Mr. and Mrs. F. W. CUNNINGHAM and Mr. and Mrs. C. W. HOLDEN. Mathias ZIRWAS, 57, died suddenly at 5:20 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 1936, in his home in Queen street, McDonald, of a paralytic stroke. He was born September, 11, 1879, in Cologne on the Rhine, Germany, and be came an American citizen as soon as possible after coming to this country. Besides his wife, Katherine MEYER ZIRWAS, he leaves the following sons and daughters: Peter, Joseph, Mathias, Jr., Jacob, Mary, Margaret, Katherine, Josephine, Anna, and Susanna, all at home; one sister, Mrs. Margaret GEHRKE of Buffalo, N. Y., and two brothers, Jacob ZIRWAS, and Peter ZIRWAS of McDonald. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. this Friday in St. Alphonsus church, McDonald, with the Rev. Father KEANE, pastor of the St. Patrick's church, Noblestown, officiating in the absence of the Rev. Fr. J. A. BURGOON. Burial in St. Patrick's cemetery. Mrs. Sarah E. BRIDGEMAN, 59, lifelong resident of Burgettstown, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 1936 in the Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh. Mrs. BRIDGEMAN was born January 21, 1877, in Burgettstown, a daughter to the late Abraham and Catherine BABLE EMLER, and was united in marriage with Samuel BRIDGEMAN January 20, 1897, at Florence. She as an active member of the Westminster church of Burgettstown. Surviving besides the husband, are tow sons, Roy F. of Aliquippa and Guy E. of Washington: Two daughters, Mrs. Thomas BABLE of Burgettstown and Mrs. Wilbert IRVING of Wintersville, Ohio; three brothers, Robert L. EMLER of Santa Cruz, Calif., Harry F. EMLER of San Jose, Calif., and Samuel C. EMLER of Midway; also six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this Friday in the Westminster church, Burgettstown, with the pastor, the Rev. D. Charles D. CASTLE in charge. Burial will be in Chestnut Ridge cemetery. August RAY, 77 years, 7 months, 10 days old, died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 1936, in his home in Bulger after an illness of several months. Mr. RAY was a native of France. He had resided in Bulger almost 40 years, coming here from McDonald, where he had resided in the old stone house on the James H. ROBB farm out Valley street. Mr. RAY was a coal miner by occupation. But for the past several years had worked for the county as road foreman. He was a well respected citizen. He was twice married. His first wife and the mother of his children died in 1920. His second wife, Selena survives, also one daughter, Mary, the wife of James SUTHERLAND of Triadelphia, W. Va., and three sons: Adrian of Donora, George of Bulger, and August Jr., at home. A brother lives in Donora. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in St. Ann's church, Bulger. Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery. Requiem high mass was sung Wednesday morning in St.'s church. The funeral Tuesday was one of the largest in this locality, attesting to the sterling character of a man whose disposition it was to be friendly with all with whom he came in contact. Herman AHLHORN, **, died at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 1936, in his home in Cliff Mine. He was the son of Augusta HILDEBRAND AHLHORN and the late Henry AHLHORN. Besides his mother, he leaves one sister, Miss Mathilda AHLHORN and four brothers, Henry, William, Ernest, and Charles, all living I the vicinity of Cliff Mine. Funeral services will be held the Friday evening in his late residence in Cliff Mine. Burial will be Saturday morning in the Montours cemetery.
