    3. MCCREARY, COVERT Miss Margaret M. MCCREARY, aged 26 years, daughter of J. C. MCCRARY of Hickory, died Saturday, August 21st, in the Ohio Valley hospital, Pittsburgh. The following brothers and sisters survive: John MCCREARY of Pitcairn; Alice, Jane, Myrna, Clyde and Wilbert, all at home. The funeral services were held at the MCCREARY residence Monday afternoon. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Believed to have been a sufferer from melancholia, Roy COVERT, aged 29 years, a well known worker in the oil fields of this vicinity, drank carbolic acid Saturday night at the home of George HAMMERLY, where he lived, and died within a half an hour. The remains were taken Sunday to the home of the young man's parents at Renfrew. COVERT had been despondent for some time. He was physically well but was subject to fits of melancholy in which he had several times threatened to take his own life. In spite of his trouble he had continued at his work. Saturday night he came back to the HAMMERLY home and just as he was entering the door, drained the bottle of acid. In four minutes he lost consciousness. The young man was born at Renfrew and came here about eight years ago. He went to work in the oil fields here and had become one of the best known and most popular residents of the vicinity. Besides the parents he is survived by one brother, Clarence, at present in the West, and two sisters, Mrs. MCCLAY of Renfrew and Nettie at home. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning. The interment was made at Butler.
