    3. SMITH, DILLON, WILLIAMS Mrs. Mary E. SMITH, widow of Dr. Andrew SMITH, and for 35 years a resident of Carnegie, died on Sunday afternoon, July 4th in her late home in Carnegie. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Nancy HOFFMAN and was born at Noblestown, Pa. Her early life was devoted to teaching school. Mrs. SMITH was a member of the Carnegie Presbyterian church and its different organizations also a member of the Woman's Club of Carnegie, and was very active in all charitable work. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Emma V. MCFARLAND, of Pittsburgh, two brothers, William T. of Carnegie and George W. HOFFMAN of California. The funeral services were held in her late home Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. MCQUILTEN of the Unite Presbyterian church, assisted by her former pastor, the Rev. KERR of Candor. The music was rendered by Messrs. HOFFMAN and WEAVER of Oakdale, YOUNG and HUMPHRIES of McDonald, and the Misses BARR and STRASS of Carnegie. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. Many friends were there to pay their last tribute to one who has done a noble work. Interment was in the Chartiers Cemetery. William Edward DILLON, 9 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward DILLON, died at the family home in Grant avenue at 2:15 o'clock Thursday morning, July 8, 1920, after a six week's illness of blood poisoning. He was born September 14, 1910, and was a pupil in grade school. Besides his parents he leaves one brother, Donald. Funeral services were held at the late home Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, in charge of the Rev. B. B. HARRISON. Interment was in Robinson's Run cemetery. Mrs. H. P. WILLIAMS of Third St. and her sister, Mrs. MILLIRON of Bristow, Okla., who was visiting here, were both called to Tulsa, Okla. on Thursday of last week by the sudden death of their brother-in-law, Henry S. LYTLE. Mr. LYTLE was bitten by a black spider on Tuesday and died the next day from the effects of the bite.
