I was wondering if any of the old German Churches on the Southside may have copies of sermons preached over the years? A colleague is working on a history of the 74th PA and I know that in late August/first Sunday in September there were a series of "recruitment" sermons preached in the area. We are trying to find out if any of those may still exist. Specifically thinking about the United German Evangelical Protestant Church of Birmingham (now the Birmingham United Church of Christ). Years ago, Rosine Bucher helped me with some information from that church and I was going through my notes 15 years later and came across her mentioning that that church kept amazing records.
