    3. "Jane, I went through all 6 Volumes of Ira A. Glazier’s works “Migration from the Russian Empire” and I did not find anyone with the surname WARMINSKI or any other possible spelling. Have you found an approximate year of arrival on one of the census?" - - - - - Pardon my butting in ...but I wanted to give you some information. Dr. Ira Glazier also wrote a series publication "Germans to America", about 35 volume's or so, available at local libraries, LDS FHC's, and now I understand it's online somewhere but I don't know where. At the end of each book, there is an alphabetical listing of those within. Identify the surname, turn the page to the correct area and read about the ship and other specifics. I would be suprised if WARMINSKI was not identified within. Most nationalities are represented. "Germans to America" is not noted for it's accuracy. When New York City decided to microfilm all the old ship's records and manifests, it did so, and Dr. Glazier somehow got the originals. They are now reposited in the Balsch Institute in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and it's not open to the public as far as I know. Additionally, the LDS has a copy of all the films of the original manifests as well. When you find the surname in question (being aware of probable misspellings) you'll want to get a copy of the original handwritten manifest to validate the information given. Also, there's all kinds of information in side margins and death's are noted. The NYC Castle Garden Immigration Center web site and email list at rootsweb can provide other information as well.
