I am looking for information regarding the Fifer & Voelkner and Fifer Funeral Homes/undertakers that were in PGH from the late 1880's to early 1900's. My G-Great Uncle Kasimer Fifer, G- Grandfather Martin Fifer and Martins' son Michael Fifer owned/operated these businesses until the deaths of Kasimer in Oct. 1904 and Martin in Dec. 1906. Would like to know when these businesses started and ended and who may have taken over these businesses after their deaths. Veolkner and Fifer Funeral business was located at 75 S. Eleventh and the Fifer businesses were at (12th Ward) 2123 Penn Ave. and 2703 Penn Ave. If any of these Funeral business serviced any of your families, as noted on the death certicates for this era, I would be intereted in the dates and locations.
