Susan, How did you find the article on the Jacob Kopp drowning? I see he was a prominent citizen, so the detailed article, but is there a way to search newspapers by keyword or something? Sorry if I confused you with the two different stories. Jacob was the "German residing in Allegheny." His son Christian was the "prominent citizen." I found the articles in my first foray into genealogy in the '70's, way back in the pre-computer era. Jacob's will and the filings to settle Christian's estate I found at the Allegheny County Courthouse. I suspect I found the newspaper articles by researching the Western Pennsylvania Genealogy Society's collection. The courthouse and WPGS were my main resources back then. Sorry I can't be of more help.
