· Former KDKA Sportscaster Dies PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Former KDKA Sports Commentator Bill Currie has died. Currie came to KDKA in 1971, left for a time to go to Philadelphia and then returned to KDKA in the early 1980's and stayed for several years. He was known for his colorful sports coats and boutonnieres. Currie died of a brain hemorrhage in the town of Yelma, Washington where he lived with his daughter. Currie was 83 years old.
