    3. Bryan, That West End "thingie" has been around for some time. I seem to recall the there had been another West End Bridge in earlier times. And we know the railroad has been around since the turn of the last century. Actually, the Little Saw Mill Run RR used to come through the West End to deliver coal to boats at the river. It is unlikely that the building would have been that long, since Totem Lumber is on the other side of Saw Mill Run, so the building would have had to span over the creek. Back around 150 years ago, there was a salt works located at this spot. Riverside High was probably just 12 rooms or so, nothing compared to the high schools extant in the city. I hope that Linda's improving. It explains why I haven't seen any of her posts for a long time. She was always a bundle of information regarding the schools of Pittsburgh. I guess that you are going to have to take up the slack, Bryan, until she returns. <VBG> My office is stationed at Shiloh and Virginia but it seems that I'm only there when I have paperwork to do!
