My great-grandmother, LIZZIE LENDAK, married GEORGE YATSCO, somewhere in Pittsburgh. What I have is a death certificate of Mr. Yatsco, on which it states that he resided on Bates St. He died January 24, 1891. On May 8, 1893, she married JOHN GUJAS, my g'g'father, at St. Nicholas Greek Catholic Church in Duquesne, PA. They both stated they lived on Bates St. They lived in Pittsburgh until between 1904 and 1906, when they moved to York Run, PA. Is there any way to find out which house they lived in, and maybe get a picture or some history, i.e., was it a boarding house in those days? By the way, Mr. Yatsco lived at "2nd Ave and Bates St" and was "crushed by a B & O RR at Bates St, 23rd Ward" as stated on the death certificate. Any helpful hints out there? I have looked through some city directories in that time period, but find nothing. I also can find nothing else through the family, of which there are only two children left. Thanks for any help, jean schmidt
