I found my grandmother, Jane Lantz in Ward 17 in 1900 when she was 11 years old. (Home and Butler streets are on the census page) Where was the 17th ward in 1900? I have a class school photo of her from about this time. What public school would be in this area? Thanks, Jo
Jo, 17th Ward is now the 9th Ward, Lawrenceville, from 40th to 51st Streets and south to just past Penn Ave. I can't help you with the schools but many of the wards had their own schools. Also, what grade are you talking about? Al At 06:47 PM 10/19/2001, you wrote: >I found my grandmother, Jane Lantz in Ward 17 in 1900 when >she was 11 years old.
