I wondered if anyone had any background on this movie character actor from the thirties and forties. I know he was born in Pittsburgh in 1890, and, tracking the city directories, his family seems to have left the 'burgh around 1900. Family legend has it that somewhere along the line there is a connection between his family and mine. Ray Boniker researching McMAHON, OWENS, FRANKHOUSE, McCAFFREY, McCABE, CAMPBELL in Pittsburgh.
One of his last movies was "Paths of Glory" with Kirk Douglas. It was about the mutinies in the French army during World War I. He always played the sophisticated, debonair gentleman type. He was a good actor who started out in silent movies.
