I don't know if the training is different now but when I was sent to Korea in the fifties we were told it is better to wound the enemy than kill him. An army could be totally crippled by a lot of wounded because the logistics to provide the care takes an incredible amount of people and resources as opposed to just leaving the dead laying around. I don't think I am a trained killer. I have fired 30 and 50 caliber machine guns, M1 and Carbine rifles, 45 caliber side arms. Also some artillery and B.A.R. weapons. I am home for almost 50 years and have yet to find a need to purchase a weapon or gun of any kind. Having said that I am absolutely opposed to gun control of almost any kind. I am for nutso control though. Best regards, Walt
This is a little off of the topic at hand, but is anyone watching Band of Brothers on HBO? What a moving and gut wrenching mini series.
