St. Mary's Cemetery is in Lawrenceville, but if you go out the front gate and cross the street, you are in Bloomfield. One block down, and you are in Garfield. The cemetery is older than 1897, my ggrandfather was in there much before that. I am fairly sure that is older than Allegheny (it neighbor) which was founded in 1844. Rosanne

Rosanne, Many moons ago, I read a blurb about Allegheny Cemetery where the claim was that it was the first cemetery built in Allegheny County that was not located in the City of Pittsburgh.
