    3. Ed, You hit it right on when you said the president has to have the support of the people and Congress - Clinton didn't. It's really sad an event as devastating as Sept. 11 had to happen so the support of the nation would allow our president to take action. I hope the support and comaradrie shown recently puts an end to this Republicans against Democrats and our leaders get on with what they are elected to do - work together for our country - and in turn, the world. That's my 2 cents worth! After Sept. 11th they will support such actions that are now going on. Apparently it took a devastating act for America to support extensive military engagement. Plus the fact that anytime Clinton took military action everyone said he was only doing so to distract from his political problems.
