Thanks to everyone who answered my query. I thought that you could be closer than a third cousin and marry and that seems to be the consensus. The reason I asked is because I am doing some research for someone and his parents were first cousins. As it turns out, so were his grandparents and finally his brother married a first cousin. Curious and curious. And we think we've got problem sorting out our families. Here everyone has the same last name. Rosanne
