I've been posting what seems like millions ;-) of obits to the Washington County list. There are many people from Allegheny county in these obits as McDonald sits right on the county line between Washington and Allegheny counties. I have no connection to the family and have no other information on this person. Charles H. HEMKE, 78, of Center avenue, McDonald, died of a cerebral hemorrhage, Thursday, May 5, 1960, in the Veterans' Hospital, Oakland. A son of the late Frederick and Louisa HEMKE, he was born June 19, 1881, in Etna. He was a veteran of World War I and was a molder by trade. He is survived by his wife, Marie SCHAEFLE HEMKE; four daughters, Mrs. Virginia CREITH of Belleville, Mich., Mrs. Louise TARABA, Miss Elsie HEMKE, and Miss Ann HEMKE, all of the Northside, Pittsburgh; three sons, Charles HEMKE of Crafton Heights, and David HEMKE at home. Funeral services were held Monday in the Northside, Pittsburgh, in charge of the Rev. Mr. ARONISH of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Northside, Pittsburgh. Burial was in Uniondale cemetery.
