But I can tell you going to the in-laws that there is a huge difference between fresh "real" kielbasa and the smoked whatever you see in most stores. When I first started dating my husband, he asked me if I would join him at his families house for Easter. He informed me that they were going to have kielbasa and chicken soup. Some out of town family members were going to be there and he wanted me to meet them. I informed him that I did not like Kielbasa but he insisted that I go. Anyway, I got my mom to change the time of our dinner so be more "lunch". I made sure that I ate before leaving for the future in-laws. When I got there, the kielbasa was fantastic. Nothing like I ever tasted before. It was nothing like the kielbasa in the stores. There are only two places that I know that has this "fresh" kielbasa in this area that almost compares. That is Barker's meat, and Swartz's (spelling??) in the South Side.
