    3. Marilyn, My aunt had a cottage at Deep Creek from the mid-50's till the early 80's. She had to sell it the first year I was married and unfortunately we didn't have the money to buy it. I went up to the lake 2 summers ago and was shocked to find the cottage gone and condos in its place and numerous fast food places there, too. I forget if the cabins are still there or not. The trees have really grown and it is hard to see what's behind them, but I also stayed in those cabins in the 60's as a little girl when the cottage got overrun with relatives. We had a nice time there anyway. Thanks for bringing back a fond memory. Judy

Probably the only cabins left are those who "might" be holding out - usually those developers make owners such a sweet deal, it's hard not to take it, especially if the owners are older and looking to retirement. At least we have the memories and we have photos - it was one of the chapters in our lives to file and revisit. And as one person on the list said, the condos are really nice - visiting now would be a new chapter to create, I guess!
