I stand corrected. The Badtrans.B merely has to be sent to infect an unprotected email address. That's why I stress the importance of PC owners to exercise responsibility for their machines. It's like driving a car without insurance......... Sue* ----- Original Message ----- > This is the worm- Badtrans.B virus. You don't have to > open the attachment for it to affect your computer. My virus software detected and deleted the "WORM_BADTRANS.B" virus and its origin was "William Goodwin". This was received from the LIST with the subject as "Re: [PITTSBURGH] Isaly's" bob m Sue M wrote: > I stand corrected. The Badtrans.B merely has to be sent to infect an > unprotected email address. Bob, I also received (and corrected) the virus that "appeared" to come from the list, but only because it had the same subject as a previous post to the list. On my e-mail, I include the "To" line in the view so I can see at a glance if a message is sent to a list or to me personally. This one showed up with the List subject, but was sent DIRECTLY to my personal e-mail. It was from someone other than William Goodwin, but obviously was someone who communicated directly with someone on one of the lists. I didn't always include the "To" column because I figured why include that column when it is obvious if I have received an e-mail, it was to ME? But once I signed up with group lists, I like to know if the message is to me personally or is one that is going to everyone on the list. I hope this makes sense! You can't get a virus through the list and you can't get an attachment through the Rootsweb lists.
