Anna, Thanks for the information. I don't recall much of the Ankara, never having been inside. A friend of my parents worked there. We would see it when travelling to Elizabeth to visit some friends of my mother or to Forward Twp where my dad's uncle lived. You're probably familiar with his name. He owned Schumann's which was just down the road from the Ankara. Back in those days, the only lights along 51, after Bill Greens, was from the slag being dumped. There sure wasn't much along that stretch of road until you got to Large. It's hard to believe how much that section of 51 has developed. I haven't been out there far enough to see that mess where the state is tying in with the Mon Valley Expressway (I think that's what they are calling that new road.).
