    2. St. Mary's Cemetery is in Lawrenceville, but if you go out the front gate and cross the street, you are in Bloomfield. One block down, and you are in Garfield. The cemetery is older than 1897, my ggrandfather was in there much before that. I am fairly sure that is older than Allegheny (it neighbor) which was founded in 1844. Rosanne

    3. Hi Donna, I've been away from Pittsburgh for 23 years now but many of my ancestors are buried at St. Mary Cemetery, Lawrenceville. I think we used to go through Bloomfield just before arriving at the cemetery so this probably the same one. Boundary lines change down through the years. I just tried looking up Annunciation Church but I'm having trouble with the ISP today. My computer keeps disconnecting. Hope this helps. Mary Perlaky ----- Original Message ----- From: Donna To: PA-PITTSBURGH-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, October 22, 2001 1:59 PM Subject: Re: [PITTSBURGH] St. Mary's Cemetery, again Al & All, During a recent trip to PA, I looked for the St. Mary's on Nunnery Hill. The people at the television station said that it used to be located where they now have one of their parking lots. I then went to the one on Mt. Troy Road, but my people weren't there either. The caretakers at Mt. Troy said that many years ago, the bodies/caskets buried at Nunnery Hill were sliding down the hill, so they were moved to various other cemeteries chosen by family members. I guess this could have happened to my people also. Is the St. Mary's at Bloomfield the same as the one at Lawrenceville? If so, my records indicate this wasn't founded until 1897 which would have been too late for my family. Any other ideas? It seems that someone associated with Annunciation Church should know which St. Mary's they used. I'm hoping someone on the list knows. Thanks again!
