Yes Bryan, there is a difference between homemade kielbassa and bought kielbassa and I am a Pollack. BArb
Although I am not a Pollack (just married to one), the difference is the taste. My FIL gets white kielbasa down in SS some where for Easter every year and it is incredible. Careful, I may send you some Ohio "trail baloney" from Medina. Norm
Al, heheh...I told my husband he had to try some Iron City when he arrived in Pittsburgh. Boy I wish I was there with him now....really miss the place. He also has to visit Eat N Park....ah now, there are some fond memories indeed. By the way, anyone remember the old Duquesne Gardens??? I remember going there as a kid to a circus...was that up by where the Syria Mosque used to stand? Man, they certainly have destroyed a number of historic buildings. Infact, my daughter tells me they renamed the Civic Arena to the Mellon Arena....good grief!! Here's another one for ya....the County Fairs at South Park. I think I'm gonna book the next flight out... Oh most definitely!!!! If you can find real, fresh, homemade kielbassa, you have died and gone to heaven. I remember at Christmas time, getting fresh homemade kielbassa...I could be wrong but I think that shops in such areas as Lawrenceville did the best....and definitely Polish Hill :) What used to bug me was the 'low fat' variety sold at the Giant Eagle. Ecch....how can you have low-fat kielbassa!! By the way....now that I am living in England, I would likk for kielbassa...can't find it anywhere unless it's under a different name and/or in a ethnic area of London. So those of you who can get the nectar of the gods, have one for me. Before anyone gets in an uproar, I just need to butt in and say we all have delete buttons. Lori
That sounds good, and a place to pursue non-genealogy lines of interest. I took a quick look at PA Memories, and have a question: Where and what is "downtown PA"? Hello everyone, I'm having a bit of a problem with our list these past few days and I hope that some of you can help resolve it. I have been getting a huge number of list bounces as members' mailboxes are exceeding limits. After 3 bounces, smartlist, which is RW's system, automaticly unsubs an address. I have no way of knowing if smartlist did it or the subscriber, then I have to manually weed through everything. Please consider taking some topics off list when the threads become large or personal. Thanks, Sue* --- Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.298 / Virus Database: 161 - Release Date: 11/13/2001
