It appears to be slowing down (I hope) as more list members are becoming alerted to it and are getting anti-virus programs. Sue* --- Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). 2. Sue M
    3. Dee, I'm glad that you're back with us again. A few (?) words about Grisoft, AVG program. Sometimes it takes numerous attempts to get the new definations but it's a FREE program that does work which sure is better than having none. I have it and also the paid Norton, so I'm not 'pushing' Grisoft. What I AM PUSHING is that everyone who doesn't have an anti virus program learns from your costly lesson and GETS ONE. I will now jump off of the soapbox (again), Sue* ----- Original Message ----- > Hi Everyone, > I was another victim of the badtrans worm virus so a few of you who I've > corresponded with probably received messages from me with the attachment. 3. Hi Everyone, I was another victim of the badtrans worm virus so a few of you who I've corresponded with probably received messages from me with the attachment. I sincerely apologize if any of you received the virus from me. I took my computer to the shop and had them remove the virus and also download the latest anti-virus update for me. I use McAfee and Grisoft. Because I can't run both programs at the same time, I was only using Grisoft and I was having problems getting the latest updates from them. The worm virus hit around Nov 23 and my latest update was Nov 13. Anyway, my computer is clean now and I've learned a valuable and expensive lesson from it. And again, I hope none of you got the virus from me. Dee p.s. 3. Welcome Deidre, You have already started on the right foot by introducing yourself. Next send a message listing, in capital letters, all the surnames you are researching. This makes them easier to scan quickly. Don't go into details with this post, just the names with general years and areas of town where they lived. If someone else is working on any of these names they will (we hope) respond. When you get a response, you can then get into details with that person. Read the posts of others, it will give you a general idea of how it goes. Ordinarily two or more people who have information to share will go off the Pittsburgh rootsweb site to exchange all these details through their home computer address but with the current Worm/Virus attack it's best to stay on the Pittsburgh rootsweb address because of Rootsweb virus protection. If you get into very long details you could possibly switch to the Pittsburgh Memories Rootsweb site to exchange details. IF YOU DON'T ALREADY HAVE A VIRUS PROTECTION PROGRAM ON YOUR COMPUTER, GET ONE. It's dangerous out there. Sue McCallister, Starshine, is the Pittsburgh Web Master/Mother/Manager. She deals with connection problems and such. Better ask her to describe her responsibilities. She just sort of "hovers" to assure everyting is going smoothly. You also have to do a lot of digging on your own. Acquaint yourself with as many Pittsburgh/Allegheny Genealogy sites as you can find and explore them in depth. Good Luck, I look forward to your postings. 1. [PITTSBURGH] Turtle Creek - Tomogyvasi of Rohnan Street?
    2. I have a 1909 Ellis Island record that give a U.S. destination for my ancestor as: 20 Rohnan Street, Pittsburgh PA. The name of the resident there is "Marie Tomogyvasi Gyorgy". Does/did Rohnan Street exist? Was it actually in Pittsburgh or could it have been in Turtle Creek (as family seems to remember).

    3. Hi all I teach computer at a public library and so pick up most of my mail from there through outside sources such as this hotmail account. I also have a yahoo and a lycos account for the various lists like this so I can keep track properly. The one that uses McAfee did not pick up the virus only when I opened the email but there are getting to be so many viruses that I recognized right away that the email had a virus attached. On my lycos mail, I had 2 inquiries pop up with 40 mb messages, my lycosmail would not even open them for me so I am assuming they are contaminated. 3. I also received email (2 of them) from the infected member. Thank you for the first alert that came in prior to messages to me. I did not open the attachment on either. I just deleted them and cleaned out the delete file. My Norton Antivirus was current and didn't pick up a thing so am sure deleting works as long as you do not open the attachment. My Subject Line said: " Horn / Horne / Grace", which I believe is the subject of a memo I sent out some time back. Looks like the two previous reports and mine are all different in the Subject line.
