Teeny Bopper (Norma Fischer to those of you from the city), Are you using MS Outlook Express ??? If you have 'preview' checked the virus gets in. I do not use MS Outlook but some one wrote to 'uncheck' the preview feature. Mac

Ray, I'm going to agree with Marc on this. To my knowledge, those other county lists are fine. I know the Westmoreland list (not this one) had a bad time with the last virus and it's still hitting those members. Try resubbing to the lists you haven't heard from or you believe are slow. You can also send a 'test' message to see if it comes through your lists. RW has had more than its fair share of glitches lately, that's for sure, and it's not done yet. Norma, Well you have to make sure that the definations are up to date and properly configured to your email program. Also, is it a paid or free software program? I have the paid Norton and it is far superior to the free one, yet, AVG by gisoft is free, and it's a great program. The last virus that went around recently, BadTrans.B didn't need you to click it open, it opened itself on some email programs (like OE, for example). Ray, all the lists you note are definitely "up and running" with daily postings. I suggest you re subscribe to each of them. Something happened not long ago, where I was receiving unsubscribe confirmations from lists that I had not unsubscribed from. Ray, Most of the lists are slow right now, 'Tis the season' you know. That and the nice weather most of us have been enjoying keeps listers away from their keyboards. By January things settle down, people become snow bound or just stay in more because of the weather, then the lists pick up again. The last round of viruses and the ATT @home subscriber mess hasn't helped matters any either. Sue* ----- Original Message ----- > This is one of the few Rootsweb lists that I still receive mail from. Thanks Sue, but the 'silence' seems deeper than this. I literally have not had ONE mailing from at least five different lists since September, all of which used to be fairly active. And that coincides with the last month available for browsing on most of the lists at Rootsweb. Also, when I try to re-submit my name for subscription, I get no 'receipt' mailed back to me like I have in the past. Makes me wonder if the lists still exist at all.
