Before that it could be done in any court, at any level (state, city, county, mayor) and anywhere. So it is much more of a needle in a haystack before 1906. There is not quite as much information in the earlier years either. But the later years do give you the things you hope for: ship name and port and date of immigration. Of course the 1920, 1910, and 1900 census should give you a sense of when they came, and perhaps when or if naturalized. where were you gals when we had the decorating to do, wiring, placing the furniture and setting up the buffet table? Are you prepared for deciding on the Mormon T. Choir, or the Harlem Boys Choir...........or actually, the Pittsburgh Ballet might be cheaper and they could do Swan Lake or something of that ilk. We really need you, Teeny Bopper, to set up the programs, or head the food committee. (This is Macs favorite) Should we give or sell autographed pictures of the great one? These questions should be on our next meeting agenda. I think an April meeting should be held. That way we wont need air conditioning or run up the heating bills. Let me know what committee you will head and what the others are prepared to do. Ginnie

Sue, I wouldn't do such as dastardly thing. Besides, it was before my time also but I do remember hearing of it and, if I'm not mistaken, Jackie Heller's club was lost to a fire in the 50s but Mac will correct me if I'm wrong. Does any one remember Emersons, just out from the Red Bull Inn on the other side of McKnight Road.? I ate there alot in the late 70's. They had a mixed drink called the "GROG". What was in it? I would love to have just one more of them. Also I am looking for my grandmothers family from N/Side. Grater - they had Graters Bakery on East Ohio Street many years ago. Correction: The meeting is at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in the Gettysburg Room. S & S is at the corner of Bigelow and Fifth, cattycorner from the Cathedral of Learning (and across from where the Syria Mosque *used* to be.) They normally charge for admission to the building and library but this day the library will be free. If you want to see the museum you should pay the nominal admission fee of $4 ($3 for sr. citizens and veterans). -- Elissa Program Chair, WPGS On Thu, 3 Jan 2002 19:53:51 EST TipperBoo12@aol.com writes: > Hi everyone > Read in the Pennysaver that the Western Penna.
