I just received information that my gg grandfather had a sister who died at 4 months of age in 1839. This information came from the Smithfield Church records. Where would she have been buried? Does this cemetery still exist, if not where were the graves moved to? Also, where can I find information on this Church? Where was its location in 1839? Joanne
Rich, I knew one day this would happen ... a question I can't answer!(grin) I'll defer to our local historians who maintain chronological calendars of events for Pittsburgh. Norm <<Norm, I'm trying to find where a relative was buried. I have no idea the name of cemetery. This relative died in 1833. He was either Catholic or German Reformed? What cemeteries were in Pittsburgh in 1833? I'd be glad to check all of them either on line or by letter. Thanks Rich>>

My great great grandmother was a HuckeNstein who emigrated to the US, with my great grandmother, about 1854 to join her brother in Allegheny City. Hi that is Norms site also but the only way he can update the records is if someone sends him something. He does this for free and would not have the time to go to all cemeteries and do readings Donna
Listers, Thanks to Victoria Hospodar Valentine, [email protected] for uncovering and recording this older unknown cemetery, which for now we will title "Oakdale Old Germany Cemetery" (since it's in that vicinity). If any listmember has any further knowledge of this location or those interred there please let me know and I'll update the posting. The link: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~njm1/04oakdale-Gr.html Please remember the posting is NOT official, nor is it complete. The Index page for all Allegheny County, PA cemeteries I have posted is at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~njm1/tombs.htm Regards -- Norm Meinert
Now that we know that Norm is responsible for updating the Mt Carmel Cemetery, Penn Hills PA, website page I'm wondering about another page too. Do we have any idea who is responsible for updating the website page of St. Agnes Section Tombstone Inscriptions St. Mary's of the Assumption Cemetery Pine Creek (Glenshaw), PA (off Middle Road) http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~njm1/pineck6.htm I see that it hasn't been updated in a while (Updated June 6, 2001) and thought someone here might know who's takes care of that site. My grandmother and grandfather are both buried there together, but only my grandfather is listed and I would like to have the updated page information. :) Diane Duman Dunlap :)
