Bea-Do you have birth or death date for Michael? Have you tried searching using a different spelling - sometimes Ancestry doesn't have it write - I found my family as LARDLY when it was LORDLY. My father-in-law is 86 & has lived a healthy life, pretty much, but he also has had prostate cancer twice. Getting the exams done, should be for your loved ones, keeping healthy is up to the indivual & his/her family. Just imagine one appt, versus many months of worrying of the results & generally feeling lousy. Waiting is harder to do. Hi Ladies & Gents I had breast cancer a little over three years ago. I have a mammagram taken each year because there is breast cancer in my family. They found it early. Mine was hard to detect because it could not be felt. They saw something on the film but was not sure what it was. I do have calcium deposits. They did a sonagram and then a biospy and they found it. Doing a breast exam on yourself will not find the kind that I had so you ladies MUST have a mammagram, PLEASE. I went to my appointment not having cancer, but left with breast cancer. IT IS DEVASTAING, BUT HAVING A GOOD MIND SET REALLY DOES HELP AND SO DO PRAYERS. I had a new procedure done so I only had to do radiation, twice a day, for 6 days. I am also on Arimidex for 5 years and I know with Gods help I will get through it. Gents, please have your prostates checked. Thank you Jen - I did do a google but got different results for some reason - I will do it again though and see if I get the results you did. You've given me head start with the name of the university. I had tried re SSDI but not having the forenames I didn't get anythign either. Greta actually died in Norfolk, back here in the Uk so I was surprised to find the SSDI reference but I guess it is because she worked over there for so long. OK, I just had to read a few pages farther on to find that the disaster was a gas explosion on the Northside, with a confirmed death toll of 26. I will transcribe and post this article at a later date. Vickie

Can anyone tell me what "disaster" occurred in Pittsburgh around November of 1927? While reading through the McDonald paper for 11-18-27 I came across mention of the Red Cross raising additional funds for the disaster in Pittsburgh. Just curious Vickie
