I have a Stuart EVERLY/EBERLY that died in infancy (late 1700's) and was supposed to be burried in Philadelphia in the Old Friends Church Yard Cemetery on Chestnut Hill. Can anyone give me any information concerning this cemetery or tell me if a grave marker appears there with that name. I appreciate your help. Thank you. Melinda at mlspeaker@Kans.com

I am a new member to the list and I need some help in finding the graves of some of my ancestors. I hope that someone can help me. My family's surname is Hamilton. I am looking for an ancestor who is buried in the family plot. Her name is: Elizabeth Myers Hamilton Silva---she is buried with her family B: 1893 in Philadelphia D: June 30, 1924 in Philadelphia Some of the other people who may be in the plot would be Alfred Hamilton, Laura Adams Hamilton, Warren Hamilton, Genvieve MacGuire Hamilton, and Alexander Hamilton. I can give vital statistics for any of these people if needed. Elizabeth may be buried in the Woodlands cemetary. I know that her husband was Lutheran, but she might have been catholic. If anyone is able to assist me, I would appreciate it. Thank you! Michele Wolfe Erie, PA

Hi All, I am new to the list. I am tracing James Nicolau (Nicolas) who immigrated from Greece (on the Turkish border) and settled in Philadelphia around 1917. He lived at 2705 E. Cumberland St. Was there a Greek Orthodox Church nearby? Is there either a Greek Orthodox Cemetery or a greek section in a cemetary in this area? Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks, marie

Hi, Does anyone have information about the 4th Presbyterian Church Cemetery that was located at 5th and Gaskill St. in 1805. Were the bodies relocated and if so where? Were records kept of the tombstones and the people buried in the cemetery? I am looking for information about John Alexander and Ann Alexander. Thank you for any help. Joan

I thought this link could be helpful to anyone seeking information about Philadelphia area cemeteries. I did find one error in the list (address) that I want to point out. It lists a cemetery called: Convent of the Sisters of St. Joseph at Reading Pike and City Line Ave. The Cemetery is actually on the grounds of the motherhouse of the Sisters of St. Joseph which is located at Germantown and Northwestern Avenues, Philadelphia, PA 19118-2693. The sisters were buried there until the late 1960's. Since then they are buried on the grounds of St. Joseph Villa, Stenton and Wissahickon Avenues, Flourtown, PA 19031. I suppose there could be other errors as well in the link's information. Go to geocities.com/Heartland/Prairie/8088/cem (Since I can't seem to type the exact link address without it becoming html -- even though I tried to turn it off in this mail system -- I'll leave it to you to put "www." at the beginning of the link and ".html" at the end.) Good luck!
Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (Established 1895) Cheltenham Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19118 215-247-0691 Thought phone number might also be helpful. I think it is correct that the cemetery is located in Chetenham Township in Montgomery County -- but it also has a Philadelphia address. It borders Philadelphia.
I was wondering if someone could tell me where in Philadelphia, the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery is located. If you could find me the address. I have info that my Great Grandfather and his sons my be buried there. Is there a person to whom I could write for burial information and grave markers? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks for any help you can give. Peggy in OH
