Article Text: Philadelphia, Pa, Dec. 13--Although he is still in a serious condition, hospital physicians said today that Herbert Mason CLAPP, grandson of Mason the "shoe-blacking king," will probably recover from the wound he received yesterday. Mrs. Marie CLAPP, his wife, who was taken into custody because her husband said she shot him, was released on $2,500 bail. Mrs. CLAPP spent the night at her father's home in West Philadelphia and returned today to her apartments where the shooting occurred. She maintained the shooting was accidental, and that it occurred while she and her husband were struggling for the possession of a revolver during a quarrel. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ PA-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
