Article Text: One of the largest military funerals held in this city was that of Corporal John F. SCHWALL, a member of Battery D., 108th Pennsylvania Field Artillery, who was killed in action in France during the World War, which was held from the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Gottleib SCHWALL, on Wyoming street, Leo Park, this afternoon. Short services were conducted in St. Paul's Lutheran Church corner East South and South Main street, by the pastor, Rev. L. LENDENSTRUTH. Members of Battery D, 108th Regiment, had charge of the funeral and attended in a body in uniform. They acted as escort, pallbearers and composed the firing squad at the grave. The church was filled with sorrowing relatives and friends and the very great esteem in which the young soldier was held was demonstrated by the many beautiful floral tributes. Interment was in Mt. Greenwood Cemetery. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ PA-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news! TM http://www.NewspaperAbstracts.com
