Servant Runs Away Before He Could Be Returned to His Previous Owner. Article Text: Whereas Thomas EVANS of Chester County, hath given Samuel BROMADGE his promissory note for twelve pounds current money, which was given as a consideration for a servant man's time, assigned or bound to him by the Worshipful the Mayor of Philadelphia, so that he could not be deceived in the above consideration, as he hath published in Mr. FRANKLIN's paper, bearing date October 28. 1736. And these are to inform the public, that the said Thomas EVANS, on his complaint to Reese MEREDITH and Samuel BROMADGE, of the said servant's not being capable of hard labour, it was agreed by the said Reese MEREDITH and Samuel BROMADGE, who were each concerned in the said servant, to take him again and deliver the said Thomas EVANS his promissory note, provided he would deliver us the said servant, clear of all charges, for the said Thomas EVANS informed us, that the said servant man was run away, and expected we should take him where we could find him.
