Mrs. Alice KEARNS, of Harrisburg, Takes Her Life While on Visit to Sister. Article Text: Carlisle, Pa., Jan. 5.--The charred body of Mrs. Alice KEARNS, of Harrisburg, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. John MCGOWAN, of Upper Mifflin, Cumberland county, was found today in a hollow near the MCGOWAN residence. Mrs. KEARNS had been in ill health and her friends believed that in a fit of mental despondency she set fire to her clothing. She left her sister's house last evening for a short walk. Coroner DEARDORF will give a decision tomorrow. She was thirty years old and is survived by her husband, two small children, and C. C.
