William G. FISCHER, Jr. Dies Week After Receiving Injuries at Manheim. Article Text: As the direct result of injuries he received a week ago while playing indoor cricket at the Germantown Cricket Club, William G. FISCHER, Jr., a widely known insurance broker with offices at 423 Walnut street, died yesterday at his residence, 243 Winona avenue, Germantown. He was 46 years of age. Mr. FISCHER participated in the sport at the cricket club on Tuesday of last week. While playing with Cushman NEWHALL, of 151 Highland avenue, Mr. FISCHER was injured during an exciting play when the men collided. He was knocked to the floor. After he had been carried in an unconscious condition to a rest room he was revived. Later he walked home, saying that he would be better in the morning. Severe pains followed, and Dr. R. L. PITTFIELD, of 5211 Wayne avenue, was summoned to his bedside. He diagnosed the case as septic pneumonia, which resulted from the injuries. At that time the physician reported his patient to be in a serious condition. Mr. FISCHER grew gradually worse, the end coming yesterday afternoon. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ PA-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
