Woman Tells a Peculiar Story Regarding Her Injury. Article Text: A peculiar cutting case came to the notice of the Twenty-second district police yesterday, when it was reported that Mrs. Sarah BARNCROFT, 35 years old, of 2229 Freedley street, formerly Cleveland avenue, was found late Thursday night lying at the foot of the stairs in the hall in a pool of blood and in a semi-conscious condition. She was bleeding freely from a wound on the end of her nose, the tip of which had been cut off. A bloody carving knife was found on the table, and the wall in front of a mirror was stained with blood. A physician who was called in, stayed the flow of blood. The woman said, according to the police, that a man, whose name she did not give, called at her home and said: "You are a rather handsome woman, but I do not altogether admire your long nose." Special Officer LAWRENCE made an investigation, and says the woman could not say who cut her. "The police are inclined to think she cut herself, and the sight of the blood caused her to faint. The severed tip of the nose was found on the floor. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ PA-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
