The remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery yesterday forenoon.The funeral services were conducted by the Rev.Father WEINKER.The funeral was one of the largest ever witnessed in this neighborhood.The pall bearers were Thomas FLECKENSTEIN,Michael DAUGHERTY,Chris KROMER,Matthew ERNST,Joseph BAUMGARDNER and John SHURK. The deceased was born in France in 1843 and came to America twenty nine years ago,landing at Connellsville Pa,where he was employed by H.C.FRICK for thirteen years.He came to this section of the country with John MCLEAVY and assisted in the opening of Walston mines,being one of the first mine foreman at the place.He was subsequently engaged in the brewery business and later became proprietor of the Lindsey House.He is survived by a widow and nine children. The sons are Peter,Otto,Nicholas,Joseph,Paul,Albert and John.The daughters are Mary and Rosa.Mrs.Phillips with the assistance of her son,Otto,will continue to run the hotel.
