She came to this country with the company of emigrants 27 years ago and the year following was married to Nicholas PHILLIPS,who was then in the employe of the H.C.FRICK Coke Company at Connellsville,Pa.The family came to this community early in the eighties in company with John MCLEAVY,Mr Phillips having been one of the men who assisted in breaking ground for the future town of Walston. In recent years the Phillips family became well known as the proprietors of the Lindsey House.Nine children survive their parents:Peter,Otto,Nicholas Jr.,Mary,Rosa,Paul,Joseph,John and Albert, the latter being but 4 years old.The bereaved family will be befriended by all who know them and knew their parents,as many will remember both the father and mother only as generous, kindly neighbors.Mrs.Phillips will be buried tomorrow at 10 o'clock A.M.in the Catholic cemetery, alongside the newly made grave of her late husband. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ PA-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
