We hear that on the 29th of lst month, as one Gabriel ENOCHSON was coming up the river to this city in a canoe, in company with John JONES (who gave us this account) and Eleanor DERICSON, they met with Edward NICHOLS and John NICHOLS in another canoe, who had been fowling and ENOCHSON, knowing there was a hue and cry after Edward NICHOLS for horse-stealing, endeavoured to take him, and laid hold of the canoe, but John NICHOLS presenting his gun, told ENOCHSON he would shoot him if he did not quit his hold, which ENOCHSON did, and after they had turned their canoe, John NICHOLS shot him in the thighs and bottom of his belly, whereof he lies dangerously ill.
