Article Text: Philadelphia, January 15. At a court of record held for the City of Philadelphia, the 1st of this instant, before the Mayor, Recorder and Alderman of the said City, the persons following were convicted of larceny, viz. Abigail TAYLOR, was indicted and convicted of stealing fifteen pound and a half of tallow from Richard CLYMER, and sentanced to receive on her bare back, at th common whipping-post of this City, five lashes. Martha CASH was convicted of stealing six yards of kersey from John GOODWIN, sentenced to receive forty lashes. Timothy CONNER was convicted of stealing a kersey coat from Richard CROOKSHANK, sentenced to receive fifteen lashes. Henry DUKES was convicted of stealing one pair of breeches, one pair of stockings, one pair of shoes, and one pocket book and ten shillings, from Matthew LINDSEY, his bedfellow, sentanced to receive twenty one lashes. Margaret MASON was convicted of stealing six moidols, ten English guineas and two half guineas from Robert ABBOT, sentanced to receive twenty one lashes. Elizabeth COSGROVE, Elizabeth GOWER, and Elinor DOYLE were convicted of stealing twenty eight drest deer skins from Isaac BOLTON, sentanced to receive, Elizabeth COSGROVE and Elinor DOYLE, twenty one lashes each, and Elizabeth GOWER, fifteen lashes. Anthony COFFIN, was convicted of stealing one silver spoon from Mar PASCHAL, sentanced to receive nine lashes. Nicholas M'DONNALD and Mary ISAAC were convicted of stealing one piece of striped calimanco from Marcus COOL, sentanced to receive each twenty one lashes. Julian MURPHEY, was convicted of stealing four yards and a half of oznaburgs from Mrs. Margaret NEWMAN, sentanced to receive fifteen lashes.
