    3. Here and there in the village of Leopard, which had a post office from 1866 to 1907, are deep-retreating country estates at a fork in the road between Newtown Square and the Great Valley. The one-time center of activity in Easttown Township was named for the Leopard, erected in 1716, where teamsters stopped to water their horses and to relax themselves awhile in the tavern.

    3. Leopard is at the intersection of Leopard Rd. (2 branches, #1 > N & #2 > NE, @ 1000 ft apart) and Darby/Paoli Rd (Rt 252), in Easttown Twp., Chester Co. If you follow Rt.252 > N toward Rt. 30 / Lancaster Pike, it is also called Leopard Rd. for @ 1 mile, starting near Waynesboro, the estate of Gen. Anthony Wayne. The next time I drive in that area I'll drive by to see if there might be a ruin/relic/remnant of the old Post Office / Tavern. This is from the ADC map of Chester Co.
