Gilpin is a fairly familiar name in the area, and too many to type everything . If you would include other given names, it would be a big help. The family originally came over in 1695 and settled in Birmingham. Their first dwelling was a cave on the side of the hill. Joseph, the original settler died in 1736 at the age of 75, (I've included his will, below), leaving to survive him, 15 children and 45 grandchildren. The only Isaac in Futhey and Cope, that I see, was born in 1709, the son of the above, Joseph.. I found, elsewhere in F&C, an Isaac Gilpin who married Mary Painter, dau of Samuel......(no date given....see will below) In the Concord meeting records (which, by the looks of the Gilpins in the index) is the following ; Isaac Glover Gilpin, of Wilmington, NewCastle, Del, s of George and Ruth Gilpin, m Hannah Darlington, d Thomas Darlington and Hanna, of East Bradford, 11-12m-1794 So, without a wife's name, we can't tell if it is either or neither of the above that you're looking for. If looking for other info, be specific in what you're seeking.....with 12 children and 45 grandchildren, there's a whale of a lot of stuff.here and there. ; PAINTER, SAMUEL.
