Hi there; Read the post from Sandra Ferguson regarding new members posting who they are working on......here goes; I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada and now live in Manitoba, Canada. In 1966 Canada was preparing for it's centennial celebration in 1967. At that time, the COHOE family was having annual reunions. We decided to do a family tree book for our centennial project. My mother was on the committee and I was comandeered into helping her. In short, I was hooked. The result of this project is the book, Andrew Cohoe and Descendants. Two small children and a hubby who moved a lot, curtailed my interest. Now, retired and partially disabled, I have tons of time for a hobby. However, this is NOT a hobby it IS an obsession. Many of my early lines were from Pennsylvania. Most of them were Quakers and since they wouldn't join the armed forces during the conflict between the colonies and Britian, many of them emmigrated to Canada; BALL, DENNIS, COHOE, HEACOCK, JOHNSON, MORGAN to name a few. Then there were the others, the United Empire Loyalists, as they came to be known; DEPEW, CRAWFORD, BALL (different line), JOHNSON (again a different line), SHOWERS, SPRINGER, SERVOS. Many of these served in Butler's Rangers. So you can see, my roots do grow deeply in Pennsylvania soil, some in Chester County. Here are a couple of lines I'm digging into currently; Rebecca JACKSON b. 25 Mar 1695 Oldcastle, County Meath, Ireland d. Bef 1746 London Grove Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, USA married 10 Nov 1716 Ballytore Meeting, County Kildare, Ireland Jeremiah STARR b. 17 Aug 1690 Old Castle, Ballyhaise Cavan, County Meath, Ireland d. 06 Jan 1775 London Grove Township. Chester County. Pennsylvania, USA Have descendents as these are my 6th vg grandparents. Also have some info on Jeremiah's antecedents. What I'm looking for is info on Rebecca's ancestors. Also working on the HEACOCK family, again 6th g grandparent; Jonathan HEACOCK b. Abt 1680 Slindon, Eccleshall Parish, Staffordshire, England d. 1764 Chester County, Pennsylvania, USA married 1710 Wolverhampton Monthly Meeting. Staffordshire, England Ann TILL b. 13 Jul 1681 White Grove, Staffordshire, England d. (no date) I have lots of info on this line. Mostly interested in any related stories about their lives, etc. I must confess, I've become hooked on their lives and stories as well as their genealogy.
