According to his will (1731) Nathaniel and Jane Woodward Newlin had ten children, all named in the will including Joseph. Ellis Lewis was one of the trustees - no doubt a relative of Joseph's wife, Phebe Lewis, and for whom Ellis Newlin was named. Also Jane Woodward Newlin died 1737 so no daughter born 1762. So am surprised at the Cope information as he is usually right on target! Perhaps it is a different Nathaniel Newlin? Here is the will abstract: Nathaniel Newlin Decedent Residence: Concord Date: 10 Jan 1731 Prove Date: 29 Feb 1731 Book Page: A:349 Remarks: Newlin, Nathaniel. Concord, yeoman. January 10, 1731/2.
